Dear Students,
Following the global license policy change implemented by Microsoft across educational institutions worldwide, which we previously informed you about, access to desktop Office applications had been restricted.
Prioritizing your feedback at all times, our university has taken action to ensure that your academic work continues uninterrupted and your educational comfort is maintained at the highest level. In line with this approach that puts student satisfaction at the center, our Microsoft 365 license model has been upgraded.
With this update, the browser restriction has been removed, and the following privileges have been made available for your use once again:
Desktop Application Support: You can download and install advanced Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote onto your computers (PC/Mac) and mobile devices (on up to 5 different personal devices simultaneously) again.
Expanded OneDrive Cloud Storage: Within the scope of this license upgrade, your OneDrive cloud storage capacity provided for your academic work and projects has been increased.
Your accounts have been automatically updated. To download the applications to your computer, you can log in to portal.office.com using your university e-mail address (stu.iku.edu.tr) and password, and use the "Install Office Applications" button located in the upper right corner.
🔐 Important Security Notice: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
To ensure the highest level of cyber security for our university accounts, the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) infrastructure has been deployed. While this security layer is currently optional, it will become mandatory for all users in the near future.
To avoid any account access interruptions and to set up your security verification in advance, please visit aka.ms/mfasetup and synchronize your account with the Microsoft Authenticator application on your smartphone.
We wish you continued success in your education life.
Sincerely,
Department of Information Systems and Technologies
